Keeping Up with Life

Hello Everyone,
It is a typical autumn day and I am loving it. Life is busy these days and so what else is new?
We have a guest in our house that is a delight. She has been a long time friend to my Kaeluree during the days of child Tea Parties. We went to Lady Di's British Country Store to celebrate those great past times. (Lady Di's is in Lake Oswego Oregon and tell them the Burchetts sent you.) I love have Shantia Murrell with us for as long as HE wills.

This fall has been packed with my responsibilities as President for Cascade Chapter of National Association of Teachers of Singers. The next challenge are my students at Horizon Christian High School. They have their concert tomorrow night. I believe they will do a great job. I know the Lord will be pleased. It will be a night of worship and praise with special guest, Evie Haskell. They will enjoy my sweet friend and family member.

My studio has made a complete change with my eleven seniors gone to their various universities. It has been an adjustment but I know the Lord is bringing new students my way. He always gives me a challenge and the door to letting my "Little light shine" allows questions that I welcome. It is wonderful to see them develope vocally and make possible changes in their lives.

I hope I can be a better blogger this year.
By the way I miss you Troi. I know many others to as well. Go see my auntie in Kona and have some tea.
Love to all

Hey Everyone
So much has happened since I last blogged.
I have chaired the auditions for our Cascade Chapter of NATS at the University of Portland.
Completed my first year at Horizon High School and Middle School.
Traveled to Jamestown, Virginia for the 400 birthday party where Pres. Bush spoke.  It was a great time with Tualatin High School choir except for the food poisoning from a Portland airport Wendy's hamburger.  Ooops!  Sure wish the other students would have let us know they were not cooked through.  As they say at my school, My Bad?
Voted in as President of the Cascade Chapter of NATS.
I am about to complete another year with Witness.  Our middle school choir at Portland Christian Center.
This activity has brought some stress so I need to keep my blood pressure at a safe level.  I would appreciate your prayers immediately.  The tour is almost here.
Well this is the first free night I have had in a very long time so I am going to watch a great Cary Grant Classic.
Have a great week and I hope to check in more frequently.

Praise God from whom all Blessings flow!  What a great hymn.  I hear alot of speakers talk about blessings and prospering.  I have tried to teach my children that Blessings come because of our everyday Worship to the Lord, Obedience, Faithfulness and Commitment.  We don't just deserve it, but it is earned.  It is available to us as long as we follow God's plan.  We don't to serve to get blessed but live to serve.

It is hard to believe that the summer is half gone.  Witness tour is a month past and we are headed toward fall.  This will be the Fall of Challenge.  I am developing the choral dept. at Horizon Christian High School.  I encourage all of you to pray for guidence and strength. It will be fun and challenging at the same time.  I am praying for a few miracles to happen.  I need supplies and some big items for the room.  Music is important, so I am looking for used classics for me to teach the beginning students coming in.  If anyone knows of a school or church that wants to be rid of their octavos.  I would be interested.  I am looking for traditional classic latin arrangements and some Christmas medleys.  I have been looking for If My People.  I am doing a patriotic theme in the spring.

Today I was thanking the Lord for the wonderful people that have spoken into my childrens lives over the years.  It really takes a village, but it is our responsibility as parents to guard their hearts and teach them the Word.  Kaeluree and I had a talk today about raising children and she said " your right mom, it starts when you bring them home from the hospital".  We parents are given a huge responsibility and it is a challenge but with the direction of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God we can make it.

I pray that all you will have a great remaining summer!

Wow it has been so long since i have connected with anyone.  What a busy time of year.

Today I was delighted to hear my daughter Kortney sing in her Spring Recital.  She did an outstanding job.  I had to keep away the tears.  God has blessed her with a unique voice.

This Spring I have accomplished with the help of my Savior Jesus Christ a number of things.  1-Composed my first middle school skit for Witness Tour.  2-I decided after viewing many students on myspace that we as a church need to speak wisdom and the word of God into our students.  They need to know that what they think and do in the secrects of their lives comes out in their actions and responses.  So I took on Phill 4:8 Brothers what is true, right, noble, pure, admirable, excellant or praise worthy Think on These Things. (modified) I have taken them through the scripture and now I am elaborating on each one to make it a devotional booklet.  It is the Lord who is giving me the insight. I have learned over the years that it is best to follow what the Lord tells me to do even though it may not be popular with others.  I am really a singer/musician not a writer, but I am stepping out of the box and directly to the plate.  It isn't a comfortable feeling, but I know I must be obedient to what the Holy Spirit directs me to do.

I have taken on The Nats (National Association of Teachers of Singers Cascade chapter) Classical Auditions Chair for 2007.  Again stepping up to the plate.  This will be a new endeavor but a great way to grow and develope character.

The Priority Auction was successful and we are hoping to get started earlier so we can incorporate more businesses and have more time.

Tour for the middle school Choir Witness will begin June 17th-21.  I 'll need prayer.

Sunday May 28th sweet Evie will sing her lovely tunes the Lord has given her. Yeah  and then it is a Barbaque afterwards with family and extended family.  What a blessing!

The best thing of all is THE LORD HEALED MY DARLING DAUGHTER IN LAW JANET OF PARATOID TUMORS IN HER NECK.  NO SURGERY. THANK YOU FATHER!

God is so good!

I hope you all have a great summer and holidays with your family.  Remember God has given us the freedom to Worship Him don't abuse that use it.

It's Hailing today!  The closest were getting to snow.

I am so sorry I have been behind in blogging.

Saturday night I helped my youngest color her hair to a deep Mahogny.  It is lovely.  She is a beauty anyway.  The oldest had her beautiful long hair cut into the jagged layered look.  It didn't change her beauty just her hair Fortuantly hair grows out.  I should be use to this with a son who changes his hair style monthly.  None the less, I am blessed with beautiful children inside and out.

This is a busy time of year.  Guys and Dolls is performaning the next two weekends, my cousin is coming from the UK next week,  solo/ensemble is coming up and Valentines Day!  Fortunately I am not into chocolate these days, just Broccolli and grapes!  I remember one Christmas Kae asked for broccolli for Christimas and Kam gave her some in her stocking!  What a hoot!

I shall end by saying how much I enjoy Beth Moore series.  The Patriarchs.  It is good to read the Alfa.and Omega.  All of it is important to our growth in the Lord.

I want to grant you Blessings but that will come when you and I are faithful, obedient, and trust the Lord.  He does want us to prosper but we must be obedient to the Word.
